We are goosed! After 10 days of an incredible adventure, we can confidently say that our 6th year of the Green Goose Chase delivered in every way. With new missions, new partners, high-energy events, and a deeply engaged flock of teams, this year’s Green Goose Chase was full of creativity, connection, and unforgettable moments.

Teams showed up ready to PLAY with creativity, teamwork, and a whole lot of honking spirit. We had 77 teams register, with 68 teams actively completing missions, and a higher engagement rate than ever before.

Together, teams submitted an amazing 1,457 missions helping us to cross another big milestone - 7,000 missions completed! In 6 years, our teams have amassed 7,234 missions completed. HOW AMAZING IS THAT?!

From April 17–26, teams took on 49 missions that sparked curiosity, inspired action, and encouraged exploration of sustainability in our community. Even after six years, the impact keeps growing. Behind the scenes, our mission creators continue to dream up new ways for teams to engage. One of the most exciting parts is bringing in community partners. This year, we welcomed just over 10 new mission partners, each adding fresh ideas, new locations, and unique opportunities for teams to learn and connect. (The La Crosse MTU, Pump House Regional Arts Center, Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin are just to name a few.)

To kick things off, 30 teams and around 100 participants gathered to strategize, connect, and launch into the Green Goose Chase at the Pump House Regional Arts Center. The energy in the room set the tone for everything that followed. Teams were collaborative, playful, and full of momentum.

After the kick-off event, teams spent the next 10 days learning, exploring, connecting and taking action towards building a more sustainable community. Each day we lauched more missions expanding engagement and unleashing more opportunities for creativity and fun.

We wrapped it all up in true Green Goose Chase fashion. Final missions were held at an amazing Earth Fair in Myrick Park bringing down teams to play and explore yet again TOGETHER. We shouldn't be surprised that going into the last moments we had teams scrambling to find final clues, complete missions and climb up the leaderboard. Seven of the teams completed all 49 missions!

Our Team Celebration was packed with smiles, stories, and well-earned excitement. The room was buzzing (and honking!) as we celebrated the creativity, effort, and accomplishments of our teams. Of course, we also gave away our oh-so-shiny Eggy Trophies and drew for some amazing prizes.

Check out our Eggy Trophy winners & prize drawing winners below:

Eggstra Award (voted on by fellow teams) : Humon-goose love for the earth

Lil'Leprechaun Trophy (first to finish the Pot o' Gold Bonus Mission) : Jurassic Honk

Mission Masters (highest point total - won tie breaker!): Liquid Turtles

High Flyers (game creator's choice - for embracing the game, creativity, competitiveness and commitment): Hoff4

With six years in, we continue to LOVE the Green Goose Chase for how it brings our mission to life by connecting people to local sustainability efforts in fun and meaningful ways. Each mission is designed to get teams out into the community, exploring, learning, and engaging with organizations and spaces doing important work, all while having a blast together. We can't wait to see what lucky number 7 year brings. HONK!

This year's game wouldn't have happened without support. A special thank you to our 2026 EggCeptional Sponsors, Trane Technologies and Ethos Green Power Cooperative, for helping make this experience possible.

We also greatly appreciate the 2026 Prize & Supply Donors who help encourage and incentivize the FUN and competition:

Close the Loop

Good Life Goal 12: Live Better.

By and large, we live in a linear economy where we take resources, make something from them, and then eventually throw it away. This isn't sustainable.

A circular economy, on the other hand, keeps materials and products in circulation for as long as possible thereby reducing our need to keep using new resources (and finding places to dump all the stuff we make when its "useful" life is done). Reusing, recycling, upcycling...all are components of a circular economy.

The circular economy isn't just theory: it's happening in businesses, communities, and homes right here in the Driftless area! For instance, Trane Technologies puts circularity at the center of their design process by keeping products and materials in use by maintaining them to extend their useful life and creating systems that are easily repaired, refurbished or recycled. In our homes, many of us recycle paper and cardboard. This gets turned in to other useful paper products without having to harvest more trees. Circular.

There are many examples of the circular economy at work in La Crosse and beyond. Take a picture of an activity or process within the community (beyond your household) that highlights circularity in practice. Make sure at least one member from your team is in the picture making a circle with their arms. 50 bonus points if your example has not yet been submitted by another team!

Many Wings

Good Life Goal 17: Come Together.

They say many hands (wings) make light work, and the Green Goose knows that no great challenge is solved alone. Whether you're pushing a giant boulder uphill or tackling big problems like climate change, it takes a collaborative effort to make real progress. After all, more people = more ideas, more energy, and more impact. It's time to team up! Find another Green Goose Chase team and join forces. Create a short video showing off your not-so-secret handshake to solidify your forged friendship. The more creative and coordinated, the better. Meaningful change happens when we work together across teams, communities, and perspectives. Honk!

Our community is full of good. Find it. Be a part of it. Help build it, and create a bright, thriving community for all. HONK!
