Our Sustainability Chat for June highlighted the work of a fellow local nonprofit organization - Friends of the Blufflands.
Friends of the Blufflands work to restore and maintain prairies and forests, control invasive species, identify and preserve rare species, educate the public on the value of blufflands, advise on trail construction, and advocate to keep the blufflands natural.
They collaborate with City of La Crosse Parks, the Bluffland Coalition, Wisconsin DNR, WisCorps, ORA, MVC, The Prairie Enthusiasts, Viterbo, UWL, Rotary After Hours and others.
In addition, the Bluffland Coalition is made up of County of La Crosse, City of La Crosse, Onalaska, La Crescent, Holmen, Town of Shelby, Town of Holland, Town of Medary, LAPC, Explore La Crosse.
