Ella LeDocq, a 2024 graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Film Production, and Mahlivanh Fleckenstein, a 2024 graduate of Viterbo University with a BFA in Theatre, teamed up to tell a powerful story about environmental education, community engagement, and climate action in La Crosse.
Ecosystem La Crosse documents how environmental education across generations can strengthen communities and promote sustainable practices. The film highlights the efforts of local businesses and individuals who are actively contributing to the La Crosse Climate Action Plan, encouraging others to find their own path in the fight against climate change.
In our conversation, Ella and Mahlivanh reflect on their journey, creative process, and the impact they hope to make. They also share thoughtful advice for young people who may feel overwhelmed but want to get involved in climate action.
We invite you to watch the full conversation below and be inspired by their story.
They are currently submitting their documentary film for viewing to local and regional festivals.
