What is the Green Goose Chase?

The Green Goose Chase is a virtual team mission-based scavenger hunt.  Start by downloading the app then creating or joining a team to play the Green Goose Chase for FREE. From April 19th through April 24th, you will have missions for your team to complete. Missions have a name, description, point value and are completed through snapping photos, texting in answers, or GPS location tags. As you complete missions, your team will accrue points at a chance to win great prizes!  Did I mention it is completely FREE!

What is a Team?

A team can be a single person or a group! Maybe it's a family, a group of friends, neighbors, classmates or a department at work. There is no limit to how many can be on  your team and participate (For the best team experience, we suggest a team max of 5). One member of the team must be 18+.

Each mission in the Green Goose Chase is tied to at least one of the Good Life Goals. By taking action towards these goals you’re helping to create a cleaner, safer, healthier more vibrant Driftless Region. Thank you! To learn more about the Good Life Goals, visit goodlifegoals.org or look below!

Participants, teams and individuals, in the 2021 Green Goose Chase game assume all responsibility for participating in the game and for any consequence that may arise from participating in it. In no way will the Sustainability Institute and Earth Fair be liable for consequences that occur directly or indirectly with your participation in this game.

When you sign up to play, you will need to accept the terms of service & waive liability.

How does a Team Play?

The entire event is FREE and played through the Goose Chase APP.

A list of missions will open on April 19th with the kick off of the week-long Earth Fair celebration. MAGICALLY throughout the week, new missions may pop up and alert you on your phone so make sure to have notifications turned on for your device. By using this APP, it will allow team members who do not live in the same household to participate safely. Mission may have you taking pictures, going on adventures, visiting locations, learning more about our region and searching for GREEN GEESE! Remember to protect your health and community health when outside of your home. Always practice physical distancing, mask wearing, and follow the current guidelines of your local government or the federal Centers for Disease Control, whichever are more restrictive.

Wait! There are PRIZES?!?

YES! Although all teams are bound to have TONS of FUN , teams who participate and accrue 1000 or more points will be entered into a random drawing for some great prizes. Winners will be announced via Facebook Post on April 24th by 8PM CST!

5 Teams win a Nature Themed Book (Donated by Vicki Miller)

4 Teams win $25 in Cameron Park Farmer's Market Tokens (Tokens Donated by Strive2Thrive)

2 Teams win $50 in Downtown Main Street La Crosse Gift Certificates

1 Team wins $150 in Downtown Main Street La Crosse Gift Certificates

1 Team wins $250 in Downtown Main Street La Crosse Gift Certificates

Good Life Goals!

Sustainability is about so much more than protecting our environment. It is about that of course, but at it’s heart is creating conditions of abundance so that all people can thrive: Abundances of health and well-being; of clean air and water; of equality; of decent work; of affordable energy and more. So how do we get there? A good place to start is with the Good Life Goals.

The Good Life Goals are based on the 17 United Nation’s Global Goals for a more sustainable world. These goals are the world’s roadmap to address some of our most pressing problems including poverty, inequality, and climate change.

On Earth Day, Nick Nichols, author of the new and colorful children’s book, “Worm McWorm and the Decomposers,” will be doing a reading and showing of his book aimed at 2nd and 3rd graders. Then, GROW will conduct an activity in the garden, teaching children (and their parents!) how to look for worms and categorize various decomposers in the soil. Stick around to the end of the activity to find out how to purchase your own copy of the book. Proceeds from sales of the book will go to GROW for gardening materials and lessons. The production of the book is sponsored by Strive 2 Thrive Coulee Region and I.M. SustainaBull.

In Dan's early days as a troubadour he performed primarily with the duo, Runaway. Currently Dan is performing solo acoustic music around the world. He performs each year in Ireland bringing the gifts of music and song across the sea (Enchanted Way Tours). He is inspired by Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor and Bryan Sutton with positive responses from audiences across the country who enjoy Dan's musical versatility. Dan's tours are close to home in his native state of Wisconsin, however, he travels to Florida (Siesta Key / Key Largo) and Colorado each year as well.

Dan continues to tour as a solo performer, in musical duo's and in the String Ties Bluegrass Band. He enjoys playing festivals, house concerts and clubs all over North America. Dan won the Telluride Bluegrass Festival award with his band, Northern Hospitality. He performs at the Great River Folk Festival  each year located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The Larryfest Bluegrass Festival, a three day music event pioneered by Dan's family. Each year the best musicians and bluegrass bands in the country attend this family festival and sold-out venue.

Dan has five successful recordings including previous works with Johnsmith. Dan's music is versatile ranging from contemporary (Van Morrison, Johnny Cash and Jimmy Buffet) to variety (jazz, folk, bluegrass and rock and roll).
